AsiaOne wins top honours at international competition for its latest mobile application

News website AsiaOne has won an international award for a mobile application it launched just a few months ago.

Released in December 2013, the AsiaOne iPad app clinched on Wednesday an Award of Excellence at the prestigious The Communicator Awards. It is the highest honour given at the international competition, which recognises organisations for their marketing and communications ideas.

AsiaOne was the only entrant from Singapore as well as Asia to win the award under the "Mobile Apps - News" category.

Apart from providing readers with breaking news updates and business developments in Singapore and around the world, the app also has photographs, commentaries and travel, nutritional and fitness articles.

Its content is from Singapore Press Holdings publications including The Straits Times, The Business Times and other magazines and news sites.

Mr Adrian Tay, editor of AsiaOne, said: "It's very heartening that the team's hard work and effort is recognised at an international level. This means the AsiaOne team has what it takes to compete at a global level.

"We are constantly striving to roll out better digital products."
