SINGAPORE - About 100 people were evacuated from an area around a workers' dormitory after a fire broke out on Thursday afternoon,.

The blaze occurred at about 5pm in a fourth floor unit of the Blue Star dormitory off Pioneer Road North, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

It sent several rescue vehicles to the scene including two fire engines and one ambulance. The fire was put out shortly after.

Nobody was injured.
