225 SPH staff, members of the public donate blood at SPH Red Apple Day

SINGAPORE - Financial consultant Lim Jit Siew may have been donating blood regularly for more than 40 years, but he still feels uneasy at the sight of blood and needles.
He was amused when he saw a woman take a video as she was having her blood drawn on Tuesday at the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Red Apple Day, a blood donation drive held by the media company.
"I still feel squeamish sometimes and most people look away from the needles, but she took a video instead," said Mr Lim, 59, who sat next to SPH systems support specialist Nur'Ain Ahmad, 27, at the event at the SPH headquarters in Toa Payoh.
She sent the video to family and friends to encourage them to donate blood, she said.
