1,000 more families to benefit from CDAC help with changes in income eligibility criteria

SINGAPORE - The Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) announced on Friday that it will be raising the income eligibility criteria for its programmes and services with effect from July 1.
The organisation helps the bottom 20 percent of the Chinese community with programmes such as tuition, bursaries and grants.
CDAC has raised the monthly household income criteria from $3,000 to $3,300 for schemes like its tuition and subsidies for enrichment programmes.
For schemes which cater to needy households, the monthly household income criteria was raised from $1,500 to $1,900. This is for programmes such as tuition fee waivers and bursaries which CDAC offers in partnership with the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations.
