Plot in Lavender area to be developed for public housing

SINGAPORE - A 1.23 ha plot of land at the junction of Syed Alwi Road and King George's Avenue, near Lavender MRT station, will be developed for public housing.

It comprises mainly vacant state land and a piece of private industrial property at No. 16, King George's Avenue, which the Government will be acquiring under the Land Aquisition Act.

The Housing Board and Singapore Land Authority (SLA) said in a joint media release on Monday that the land is zoned for residential use in the Urban Redevelopment Authority's Master Plan 2014.

SLA gazetted the affected land on Monday. Both agencies are in touch with the affected landowner to assist with any queries and concerns.

More information on the future public housing development will be provided when the plans are ready, the agencies said.
