SINGAPORE - A new online portal will be launched to help health-care planners draw on best practices and share knowledge of health-care facilities both here and overseas.
This portal will be launched next year and is part of efforts by the Health Ministry to innovate its delivery of health-care facilities and infrastructure to meet the rising demands of the population, said Senior Minister of State for Health Amy Khor.
Announcing this on Tuesday, Dr Khor said: "The web-based portal will enable our cluster teams and partners in project development to obtain information, carry out analysis and exchange ideas for both local and international healthcare facilities through an integrated system."
She told the audience of health-care professionals at the Healthcare Infrastructure Technology & Engineering conference that the changing health-care demands and priorities has made the delivery of infrastructure projects increasingly complex.
Sharing of experiences is one way to "build better and smarter facilities, but in a cost effective and sustainable manner".
Another is the use of new construction technologies.
The new nursing home coming up at Woodlands Crescent will be built with prefabricated and prefinished material, she said.
