SINGAPORE - From Thursday, Jan 1, higher medication subsidies will be rolled out for all subsidised patients at polyclinics and specialist outpatient clinics.

Lower and middle income Singaporeans with a valid Community Health Assist Scheme (Chas) card will get a 75 per cent subsidy at these institutions.

On top of this, pioneer generation members will also get an extra 50 per cent off their subsidised medication bill.

In preparation for the subsidy roll-out, staff at hospitals like the National University Hospital (NUH) have been undergoing training to help them anticipate common questions they might be asked.

These include details on how much subsidies patients are eligible for, or comparisons of their bills pre- and post-subsidy.

Senior Minister of State for Health Amy Khor observed one of these training sessions at NUH on Monday morning.
