SINGAPORE - A thousand bottles of insect repellent were distributed in Braddell Heights on Sunday afternoon in efforts to fight dengue.

Over the next two months, 3,900 more bottles of repellent will be given out for free at resident committee centres in Braddell Heights zones B and C. They are high-risk red dengue zones which have seen a large number of cases.

This is part of steps taken by the Braddell Heights Community Emergency and Engagement Committee to prevent dengue.

According to the National Environment Agency's website, June to October is the period when the number of dengue cases usually peaks in Singapore.
