On Aug 7, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced pay hikes, wider job scopes and improved career progression for public sector nurses.
These measures are the latest in a series of developments that have sought to increase both the professional stature and social perception of nurses in Singapore.
Such efforts are well-deserved, as they recognise the increasingly specialised skill sets, rising commitments and sacrifices that are required from nurses.
Doing so would simply be showing care to a group of people who make it their job to do so.
