The annual pre-university seminar opened at the National University of Singapore on Monday morning.

From today to June 5, about 550 students from junior colleges, the centralised institution and polytechnics, will work on projects that revolve around the theme "Many Stories, One Future".

At the opening ceremony, guest of honour, Minister for Manpower Tan Chuan-Jin fielded questions from students in a session which lasted more than an hour.

He discussed topics ranging from group work in schools to xenophobia and minimum wage.

The event this year is organised by Raffles Institution and the Ministry of Education.
