Dinosaur balloons invade Marina Square for March school holidays

SINGAPORE - Imagine staring into the jaws of a gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex or watching a Pterodactyl soar through the air.

For this year's Balloon Event, Marina Square's signature event held during the March school holidays, 10 dinosaur balloon sculptures of various shapes and sizes have taken over Marina Square's Central Atrium as part of an event called Dinosaur Balloon Extravaganza. It is being held for the fifth year running.

The balloon sculptures were constructed and installed from Mar 16 to 19 by 45 balloon artists from nine territories, namely Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia and India.

Using around 85,000 balloons and comprising 14 different types of balloons, the huge installation will be an attempt to break the record for Singapore's Largest Balloon Landscape.

The annual balloon festival will run till Sunday, from 11 am to 10 pm.
