SINGAPORE - Japanese clothing chain Uniqlo has set up a partnership with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to offer guest lectures to students on its retail services and retail merchandising courses.

The two signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Wednesday which will also see the company offer 35 industry attachment places and sponsor book prizes for six top students each year.

Additionally, ITE will receive at least 300 pieces of sponsored Uniqlo merchandise to use for teaching purposes.

Dr Ang Kiam Wee, Principal of ITE College Central, said: "As a post-secondary education institution, we are constantly on the lookout for industry partners to provide value-adding learning opportunities for our students.

"ITE is very privileged to be able to partner Uniqlo in helping to train and prepare service employees of the future for our retail industry."
