$2,500 a year for parent support groups in schools

Published on Apr 12, 2014 9:15 PM

The Education Ministry will ensure that parent support groups in schools have an annual sum of $2,500 to spend on organising activities.

Education Minister Heng Swee Keat told the first Parent Support Group conference on Saturday that the ministry introduced a PSG Fund in 2012 which offered a one-off sum of $2,500.

However this will now provide groups an annual top-up of up to $2,500.

It means that a group with just $1,000 left from its PSG Fund can get $1,500 from the Ministry to bring it up to the full amount.
