Woman arrested for suspected involvement in vandalising police camera at HDB block

SINGAPORE - A 25-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly vandalising a police camera at Block 105 in Jalan Bukit Merah.

A member of the public filed a police report on Wednesday at 3am regarding the vandalised camera.

Following investigations, officers from the Bukit Merah East Neighbourhood Police Centre's Crime Strike Force unit established the identity of the suspect and arrested her along New Bridge Road at about 7.30pm on the same day.

Investigations are ongoing.

The penalty for vandalism is a fine of up to $2,000 or a jail term of not more than three years. Men who are convicted may also be caned between three and eight strokes.
