Total of 219 police officers commended for good work and service

SINGAPORE - The police force's top officers were recognised on Friday for their good work, for example, in dismantling a fake gold pawning syndicate or taking down a rogue banker that had made off with more than US$400,000 of clients' money,

A total of 219 individuals and 193 teams were honoured with commendation certificates by Commissioner of Police Ng Joo Hee at a ceremony at the Home Team Academy. Another five special commendations were given out to officers who had rejected bribes dangled in front of them.

The award recipients included 19 members of the public who had volunteered their service in crime prevention and promoting police-community relations.
