SINGAPORE - A Singaporean man suspected of drug trafficking was arrested on Wednesday in an operation that seized more than $239,000 in drugs.
The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said yesterday that they found about 183g of ketamine, 134g of synthetic cannabis, 257 Erimin-5 tablets, seven "Ecstasy" tablets, and 1,270g of "Ice" - enough to supply about 720 "Ice" abusers for a week.
The 48-year-old suspect was arrested at the Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday morning. Some drugs were found in his haversack, along with improvised drug smoking apparatus.
CNB officers subsequently raided the suspect's Holland Close residence, where they discovered a large quantity of "Ice" and an assortment of other drugs. Numerous empty plastic sachets, glass apparatus and one digital weighing scale were also found.
Investigations into the suspect's drug trafficking activities are ongoing. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
