Police arrest suspect in robbery that left one hurt; accused could face 20 years, 12 strokes

SINGAPORE - A 33-year-old man has been arrested for alleged involvement in a robbery that left one victim hurt.
The police were alerted to the incident on June 2 at about 5.45am by the victim, who reported that an unknown person had assaulted him with an object believed to be a pole.
The victim had his sling bag snatched near Compassvale Link, and had a cut on his head. He was subsequently taken to hospital.
Combing through CCTV footage, the police managed to identify the suspect and arrest him on Tuesday at about 5pm around Penjuru Close in the Pioneer area.
