SINGAPORE - Operations at Woodlands Checkpoint were temporarily halted on Thursday evening due to a possible false alarm.
An alarm had gone off at the checkpoint earlier at about 8.15pm in the evening, which triggered a lockdown.
But The Straits Times understands that further investigations revealed that it was a false alarm and that normal traffic flow resumed after about 9.20pm.
Users on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter uploaded pictures of crowds stuck both outside and inside the checkpoint.
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore was unable to provide further details at this moment.
