A 41-year-old man believed to be involved in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty was arrested on Tuesday, the police said in a statement on Wednesday evening.
On April 9, a week ago, the Bedok Police Division had received a report of an unknown man molesting a 38-year-old woman along Tampines Avenue 1. The police did not provide further details.
They conducted intensive ground inquiries to establish the suspect's identity, and arrested him around 12.15pm near Ubi Avenue 3 on Tuesday.
Aggravated outrage of modesty is where fear of death, hurt, or wrongful restraint is caused to the victim, or if the offence is committed in a lift or against a child under 14.
If convicted, the suspect can be jailed for a minimum of two and a maximum of 10 years, and caned.
