Labourer who got frisky with two women in an hour is jailed two months

SINGAPORE - A labourer who got frisky with two women in the space of 40 minutes was sentenced to two months in jail on Thursday.

Nagarajan Karthick, 26, started by tapping the buttocks of a 25-year-old jogger as she ran in her Teban Gardens Road estate at 10.15pm on Aug 14.

He then followed a 35-year-old woman into the lift of a nearby block at 10.55pm, pressed his hand against a plastic bag she was holding in front of her chest and lifted her skirt as she tried to get out.

Nagarajan, who is from India, admitted three charges arising from these acts.

He could have been jailed up to two years and fined for outraging the modesty of the first victim. He could have been jailed up to three months and fined up to $1,500 for each of his two counts of using criminal force against the second woman.
