CNB and police nab 104 suspected drug offenders in joint drug busts

More than 100 drug offenders were nabbed in island-wide raids by the the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and Singapore Police Force this week.

The operation, which covered places in Beach Road, Bedok North, Boon Lay, Choa Chu Kang, Circuit Road, Geylang, Jalan Kayu, Pasir Ris, Woodlands and Yishun, saw a total of 104 suspected drug offenders arrested, and drugs worth more than S$70,000 seized.

These include about 270 grams of ketamine, 150 grams of Ice, 30 grams of heroin, 2,500 Erimin-5 tablets, 290 Ecstasy tablets and a small amount of cannabis.

A 47-year-old Singaporean man suspected of trafficking multiple types of drugs was the target of one particular operation. He was arrested in the Toh Guan Road vicinity. Drugs with an estimated street value of more than S$58,000, as well as cash of S$12,000 were seized from this one raid alone.

The male suspect is still being investigated for drug trafficking. If convicted, he could face a minimum of five years of imprisonment and five strokes of the cane.
