SINGAPORE - A 16-year-old student charged last month with hurling a bicycle wheel from a high floor of an HDB block faces four more charges.

On Friday, Abdul Hamid Rahmat's bail was revoked, as he was seen as a "clear danger" to the public.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Goh Yi Ling said the teen re-offended on May 16 when he threw the bicycle wheel from the Eunos Crescent flat. At the time, he was on police bail for four other "killer litter" offences.

His original charge has been amended to one of causing grievous hurt to Madam Mahani Abdullah, 67, by doing an act so rashly as to endanger life or the personal safety of others.

The wheel had landed on Madam Mahani's head. She has been in hospital since then, and has slipped into a coma.

Abdul Hamid is accused of throwing a brick from the 12th floor on Dec 12 and 13. The second time, the brick hit the hand of a passer-by. On June 22, he allegedly hurled two bricks from the 11th floor of the block.

On Aug 24, he is alleged to have thrown two ceramic tiles from the 11th storey, a 5kg dumbbell from the 13th storey and a water dispenser from the 12th storey.

Ms Goh applied for a short adjournment to get a medical report on Madam Mahani.

Abdul Hamid, who has no lawyer, told the court he intends to plead guilty and has applied for legal aid.

His case has been fixed for a pre-trial conference in a community court on June 17.

The maximum penalty for causing grievous hurt is four years' jail and a $10,000 fine. For committing a rash act, the maximum penalty is six months' jail and a $2,500 fine.
