A 52-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for armed robbery.

On 16 July, at about 7.45am, the victim was walking towards her car parked at a multi-storey carpark at Boon Keng Road. After loading her luggage, she saw the suspect standing beside the driver side area. He then confronted her with a penknife before entering the car and driving off. The car was later found abandoned along Upper Boon Keng Road.

After establishing the suspect's identity, police arrested him in the vicinity of Geylang on 17 July at about 12.40pm.

If convicted of armed robbery, he faces a jail term of up to 14 years and not less than 12 strokes of the cane.
