SINGAPORE - The former Beaufort hotel in Sentosa will be redeveloped and unveiled as a new hotel in the second half of 2015, its owner Royal Group said on Wednesday.
It will be renamed the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa.
The redevelopment will be done in phases and the hotel will remain operational, Royal Group told a briefing at the hotel.
It said the structure of the hotel and its surroundings would be preserved.
It added that it has retained most of the hotel staff and will be filling new vacancies.
The new hotel will target luxury travellers, it said.
Royal Group plans to spend more than $20 million on the renovation, managing director Bobby Hiranandani told The Straits Times at the sidelines of the briefing.
It will be managed by Accor.
The new hotel brings Accor's number of hotels in Singapore to six.
