Unit of Malaysia's state oil firm Petronas cuts pay by 20 per cent

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Petronas Carigali has asked its staff to take a 20 per cent pay cut in view of the challenging market conditions caused by low global oil prices, SunBiz reported, quoting a source and citing a memo.

Petronas Carigali, a unit of state oil firm Petroliam Nasional, indicated that a 20 per cent reduction in current salaries would be required effective from May 1, SunBiz reported, citing the memo.

Petronas Carigali officials were not immediately available for comments when contacted by Reuters.
