1. United Engineers shares jump on potential investment from Thai tycoon. The counter hit a high of $2.49 in just over two hours of trading, 20 cents above its previous closing price of $2.29 on Wednesday.
2. Ex-Bank of Japan governor named NUS Business School distinguished visiting fellow. Mr Masaaki Shirakawa will take on the role from August 25 to September 10.
3. Tiong Woon logs 25% rise in full-year earnings despite lower revenue. The company managed to lower its cost of sales by more than the slip in revenues, thus registering better profit margins.
