SINGAPORE - More taxpayers filed their personal income tax returns earlier this year, said the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras).
The Iras said on Wednesday that 75 per cent of tax payers submitted their tax returns by April 1, up from 71 per cent last year.
But some taxpayers had still not submitted their returns by the deadline of April 18. Only 95 per cent did so, Iras said.
Of these, 820,000 people filed their returns online while over a million taxpayers were on the "No-Filing Service".
Taxpayers can expect their Notices of Assessment (NOA) from May, and those that have not applied to pay their taxes via a GIRO account will be required to do so within one month from the NOA date, Iras noted.
