Fine clothes, good food and health are what women want, says UOB

SINGAPORE - Clothes, good food and health are what women spend on, says United Overseas Bank (UOB) on Monday.

They are also spending more, as the bank found that there was a 10 per cent increase in spending by all UOB Lady's cardholders between 2013 and 2014.

Ms Jacquelyn Tan, UOB Group's managing director, cards and payments, said the numbers reflected "how today's successful Singaporean woman is not only spending more on herself in terms of fashion, dining and beauty", but also investing in health.

She said: "What is interesting was the increased spending on preventive healthcare services, such as health screenings and wellness treatments. In fact, medical services registered a year-on-year spend increase of 12 per cent."

"This tells us that health is becoming a top priority for women," she added.

UOB has also introduced a limited-edition UOB Lady's Solitaire Card embedded with Swarovski crystals.

UOB Lady's and Lady's Platinum cardholders who spend more than $10,000 from now till Jan 31 are eligible for a card upgrade.
