Ernst & Young boosts Singapore-based fraud investigation unit with new partner

SINGAPORE - Ernst & Young (EY) has appointed data analytics veteran Reuben Khoo as a new partner to boost its fraud investigation and dispute services (FIDS), a segment that has tripled in size in the Asia Pacific over the last four years.

Mr Khoo will be EY's head of forensics technology and discovery services in the Asia Pacific to oversee the financial services company's technology-based fraud and investigation business in the region, with a focus on areas such as IT forensics and cyber security.

Both the FIDS unit and Mr Khoo are based in Singapore.

Prior to his appointment, Mr Khoo has had close to 30 years of experience consulting with regional clients on financial crimes, EY said.

The announcement is part of EY's move to expand its fraud investigation and dispute services in Singapore and across the region. The unit has tripled in strength over the last four years, and is set to double in the next two years, EY said.

ET's announcement also comes against the backdrop of stronger measures by the Singapore government to tackle corruption.

Speaking at a conference on public sector integrity on Tuesday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that anti-graft laws will be reviewed and more officers will be hired to fight corruption.
