Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam will be in Washington, DC from Wednesday to Sunday for meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Group of 20 (G20) finance ministers.
Mr Tharman will chair meetings of the IMF's policy steering committee, the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), said the Ministry of Finance and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in a joint statement on Tuesday.
He will also chair meetings of the IMFC and G20 finance ministers on IMF reforms.
The IMFC meetings will "discuss actions to strengthen the economic recovery globally, and to avoid global financial instability as monetary policy normalises", said the MOF and MAS.
Mr Tharman is chairman of the IMFC and of the MAS.
He will be accompanied on the trip by officials from MOF and MAS.
