Tokyo stocks up 0.42% by break on Wednesday

TOKYO (AFP) - Tokyo stocks gained 0.42 per cent on Wednesday morning with a stronger dollar supporting exporter shares, as investors wait for the US central bank to wrap up a policy meeting later in the day.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 63.08 points to 15,039.05 by the break while the Topix index of all first-section issues was also up 0.42 per cent, or 5.24 points, to 1,243.44.
