SGX securities trading inches up in July from June

SINGAPORE - Trading activities on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) grew last month from June, but remained unchanged from or lower than a year ago, the bourse said on Tuesday.
A total of $21 billion in securities was traded on the SGX in July, up 2 per cent from June but down 24 per cent from July last year.
Six initial public offerings on the bourse raised $508 million in July, a third of the $1.5 billion raised in eight listings the previous year.
Bond listings nearly doubled, however: there were 51 bonds listed last month, raising $21 billion, compared with 29 listings a year ago that raised $11 billion.
