SHANGHAI (AFP) - Chinese shares were flat in light trade on Wednesday morning as funds were diverted to new share issues, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.07 per cent, or 1.39 points, to 2,065.31.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.03 per cent, or 0.29 points, to 1,076.10.
Four companies began allowing investors to subscribe for new shares Wednesday ahead of planned stock market listings, state media reported.
