China shares flat in morning trade

SHANGHAI (AFP) - Chinese shares were flat in morning trade on Friday as investors stayed on the sidelines ahead of the weekend, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.09 per cent, or 1.95 points, to 2,058.98.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.04 per cent, or 0.44 points, to 1,056.87.
