China shares down in morning trade

SHANGHAI (AFP) - Chinese shares were down in morning trade Monday amid shrinking volume due to worries over the weak domestic economy, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.81 per cent, or 16.47 points, to 2,010.03.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, dropped 0.86 per cent, or 8.73 points, to 1,010.63.
