SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Singapore will report detailed data on gross domestic product (GDP) for the first quarter on May 20, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Monday.

The Economic Survey of Singapore for the first quarter of 2014 will be released at 8:00 am local time on May 20, the ministry said in a statement.

Expectations for an upward revision to the first-quarter GDP data have grown after data showed that industrial output rose 12.1 per cent in March from a year earlier, about double the pace that had been expected by economists.

The jump in manufacturing output was stronger than what was implied by the government's advance estimate of first-quarter GDP, which showed that Singapore's economy expanded 5.1 per cent in January-March compared with a year ago while growing 0.1 per cent compared with the previous quarter on a seasonally adjusted and annualised basis.
