Minister Khaw Boon Wan to visit China for Singapore-Tianjin meeting

SINGAPORE - Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan and Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development Lee Yi Shyan will be in China from Tuesday to Thursday.

They are visiting the country to attend the 7th Singapore-Tianjin Economic & Trade Council Meeting, according to a press release by the National Development Ministry on Tuesday.

Mr Khaw and Tianjin mayor Huang Xingguo will co-chair the meeting to review the Council's accomplishments in the past year and to set directions for new collaborations in the coming year. Established in 2007, the Council promotes exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of Singapore and Tianjin.

During the visit, Mr Khaw will also renew ties and meet with Tianjin Party Secretary Sun Chunlan.

Mr Khaw and Mr Lee will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of National Development, Ministry of Trade and Industry and International Enterprise Singapore.
