Q & M Dental may spin off China manufacturing unit

SINGAPORE - Q & M Dental Group (Singapore) said it is exploring a possible spin-off of its subsidiary, Q & M Aidite International, as a separately listed entity.

Q & M Aidite manufactures zirconium oxide blocks in China which are used in dental computer-aided design or computer-aided (CAD/CAM) manufacturing machines in the fabrication of dental prosthesis.

The CAD/CAM system uses computer-aided design and manufacturing technology to fabricate porcelain and composite inlays, onlays, crowns and bridges.

The oroposed listing will provide access to an additional source of funding to capitalise on growth opportunities for the capital-intensive manufacturing business, said Q & M Dental.

The group further believes that the listing will offer investors and shareholders the opportunity to independently assess the market value of the manufacturing business and will enable Q & M Aidite to increase the scale of its business going forward.
