Noble buys alumina producer for $178 million

SINGAPORE - Noble Group said on Thursday that it has agreed to acquire all the shares in Alcoa Minerals of Jamaica, whose main business is participation in a joint venture in Jamaica for the production and sale of alumina.

The acquisition will cost approximately US$140 million (S$178.2 million) and will be made through Noble's wholly-owned subsidiary, General Alumina Holdings Limited.
