New chief innovation officer appointed at DBS Bank

DBS Bank has appointed Mr Neal Cross as managing director and chief innovation officer of its technology and operations division.

Mr Neal, who has worked for over 20 years in technology, innovation and financial services, will be in charge of developing the bank's digital banking efforts in Greater China, Southest Asia and South Asia.

Prior to his new role, Mr Neal was the vice president of MasterCard Labs, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. He had also worked for Microsoft as the financial services industry director before joining MasterCard.

"We remain cognizant that the human element is always at the core of all we do, be it designing customer experiencs or mapping digital engagment," said Mr David Gledhill, chief technology officer at DBS.

"We are pleased to have Neal, a strong champion of innovation in the financial services space, on board with us on this journey."

The bank also recently announced that it will invest $200 million in the next three years into developing its digital banking capabilities.
