SINGAPORE - Malaysian bank Maybank Kim Eng Securities has named a new chief executive to help it ramp up its investment banking business.

Mr Harmeet Singh Bedi, who was previously at Swiss bank UBS, took the helm at Maybank Kim Eng on Tuesday, July 15.

The bank said in a statement earlier this week that Mr Bedi would "lead in the overall development of Maybank Kim Eng's investment banking business in Singapore".

Maybank Kim Eng Group chief John Chong said that the appointment was "an affirmation of our commitment to further deepen our investment banking presence in the region".
