SINGAPORE - Linc Energy, a Singapore-listed oil and and gas producer, said on Friday it has been awarded a third coal exploration license in Poland.

The Kobiór-Pólnoc Coal Exploration license will allow it to carry out exploration activities in the central Upper Silesian Coal Basin of Poland, it said.

The area, which covers 46 sq km, holds anticipated economic resources of 1.2 billion tonnes of coal, based on data from the Polish Geological Institute.

Linc is currently planning its first phase of exploration to start in 2015.
