SINGAPORE - Genting Singapore - the casino operator that runs the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) integrated resort - has posted a 27 per cent plunge in second-quarter net profit to $102.3 million, from $140.2 million a year earlier.

The group did not declare any dividend for the quarter.

Revenue gained 6 per cent to $751 million from $707.9 million.

The mainboard-listed company's core earnings - measured by adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) - came in at $313.8 million, down 1 per cent from $310.8 million a year earlier.

Gaming revenue for the second quarter gained 9 per cent to $596.9 million from $548.6 million a year ago.

Earnings per share for the second quarter worked out to 0.83 cent, down from 1.14 cents a year earlier.
