SINGAPORE - A unit of construction and civil engineering company OKP Holdings has clinched a $37.3 million contract from the Land Transport Authority to widen Tanah Merah Coast Road and design and build vehicular bridges.

OKP said on Friday its unit Or Kim Peow Contractors will construct a new dual four-lane carriageway and expand part of Tanah Merah Coast Road from a dual one-lane road to a dual three-lane road.

The contract came into effect on April 21 and work is expected to be completed by May 2017.

This win brings OKP's order book to $368.8 million.

"Despite the challenging operating conditions faced by construction companies, we remain optimistic and continue to prospect actively and selectively to grow our business," said OKP's group managing director Or Toh Wat.
