SINGAPORE - Singapore's fastest growing card is the PAssion POSB debit card, said the People's Association (PA) and POSB Bank in a joint statement on Jul 24.

They said that 100,000 of such cards have been issued since the launch in January.

The card's popularity was attributed to lifestyle benefits and privileges, and multiple transactional functions such as ATM, debit and contactless payment features.

Mr Derrick Goh, head of POSB, said: "We are delighted with the positive feedback and response from the public. The strong demand for the first community card, a collaboration between PA and the 'People's Bank', is testament that Singaporeans welcome the relevance and convenience this unique card brings to their lives."

It was also announced that all PA community clubs and water-venture outlets will have POSB credit or debit payment facilities from September.

Cardholders will also get to enjoy further 2 per cent off PA programmes when they pay using their cards.

"This will provide greater convenience for our members when they register for PA courses, activities and facilities, " said Mr Ang Hak Seng, PA chief executive director, who noted that more than 50 per cent of the cardholders are new to the PAssion Card programme.
