SEPANG (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - The remains of MH17 chief steward Mohd Ghafar Abu Bakar and Universiti Malaysia Sabah lecturer Ng Shi Ing arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Sunday morning.
One casket and an urn, draped in Malaysian flags, were unloaded from a MAS aircraft and taken by soldiers to waiting hearses.
The duo were accorded full military honours. A minute's silence was observed at 8.41am local time before the hearses were driven past families and waiting dignitaries. Their remains were later taken to their final resting place.
The remains of a third passenger, which was not identified on request of family members, also arrived on the same commercial flight from Amsterdam at 6.30am.
