MH17: Dutch PM Mark Rutte to visit Malaysia on Nov 5

MILAN (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte will visit Malaysia on Nov 5 to discuss issues surrounding downed Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Rutte would make stopover in Kuala Lumpur before flying off to Australia, also for discussions on the matter.

"The visit to Malaysia and Australia, focussing on the MH17 issue, is to ensure that the matter will always be in the minds of the international community," Najib told the Malaysian press at the sidelines of the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit here, Friday.

The Prime Minister said he had met and spoken to Rutte about MH17 over lunch here.

Flight MH17, carrying 298 passengers and crew, crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam. The aircraft is believed to have been shot down.
