KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Malaysian opposition MP Teresa Kok is expected to be charged in the Duta High Court on Tuesday over her Chinese New Year "Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014" video.

Kuala Lumpur deputy CID director ACP Khairi Ahrasa confirmed that Ms Kok would be charged and that police had concluded investigations into the case under the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act.

ACP Khairi, however, refrained from stating whether Ms Kok was to be charged for sedition.

Her 11-minute video, which was uploaded on Jan 27, depicts the Democratic Action Party (DAP) leader as the host of a feng shui programme interviewing three panellists on Chinese New Year and their predictions. The panellists are alleged to have made fun of a variety of issues such as the Malaysian education system and last year's Lahad Datu intrusion as well as top leaders.
