DENPASAR (AFP) - The body of an American tourist who was brutally killed and stuffed into a suitcase on the Indonesian resort island of Bali has been flown back to the United States, police said Wednesday.

Ms Sheila von Wiese Mack, 62, was found in the suitcase in the boot of a taxi in front of an exclusive hotel in the upscale Nusa Dua resort area last week.

Her daughter and daughter's boyfriend, who had been staying with her, have been arrested over the killing and could face the death penalty if found guilty of premeditated murder.

Police said that the body was flown back to the US overnight Tuesday to Wednesday.
