KOTA KINABALU (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A 26-year-old Malaysian mother is pining for her three-year-old son who went missing after her husband's car was stolen nearly 48 hours ago.

As Low Meng Yew's disappearance continues to boggle police, a distraught Ms Yong Siau Yee is hoping that her son would be immediately released unharmed by his captors.

"She is very shaken," said a family friend, who declined to be named.

"I appeal to whoever is holding him to please, please let the innocent boy go. I believe that it will be the best Mother's Day gift for her."
